Quay Blue Light Glasses

It took me a long time to actually give up and order a pair because for me it was unnecessary and too trendy BUT lately I started to have more frequent headaches and with us being stuck at home I have constantly my eyes on a phone, a tablet or a computer so I decided to give it a go.

I am quickly going to mention Quay as I have decided to get a pair from them and the quality is amazing, this specific pair I got is out of stock on their website but I got mine on Asos. All my sunglasses are now from them so it was only natural to go to them for a pair of blue light one and I regret nothing. I got the most expensive but overall the prices are below £39 which is affordable and in my opinion even for a pair like that you need a good sturdy product, your eyes are precious!

Now this is tricky because there is no scientific proof or any medical research saying that blue light lenses are actually making a difference or working. I have decided to write this article very quickly because I only got these glasses two days ago and I am more comfortable than ever with my screen time since then. Of course I could have wait a little longer but why not, now is the moment where we need more than ever to protect our eyes.

First of all let me tell you a bit more about blue light rays. Commonly, these are coming from the devices we are using all day long in the form of smartphone, tablet and computer. These rays are amongst many other factors the reason why we can get headache, tired or eye strains. There is a lot of studies out there and I invite you to just type it in google because even if I am on board with the idea, these glasses are not medical and certainly not the ultimate solution.

So, What are blue light glasses ? In a nutshell, blue light glasses contain lenses specifically designed to block (with a filter, same as sunglasses!) and reduce the amount of blue lights reaching your eyes and therefore making your screen time more comfortable. Obviously I asked myself if I wasn’t just throwing away £50 (I decided to get a quality pair!) for just a very gimmicky product but I wanted a quick fix and unless I go digital free in my home, which is not going to happen, glasses make the most sense.

Can I wear my glasses all day ? The glasses can adapt to a lot of different people and unless you have a condition or wearing glasses already yes you can wear it all day but personaly I don’t, as soon as I leave my computer or my phone I remove them. The glasses act as a shield and the protection stop there but there is no harm wearing them in a long period of time.

But do they really work ? If you google it you will not get a certain answer so apart from my opinion I also invite you to visit different blog and read other article. Do not get trap into an influencer post without any explanation, go and educate yourself first, you can visit that LINK for a blog post that really helped me to understand. For me it is a winner, I do see a massive difference in a short period of time and it has made my life a little bit smoother so why not.

Blue light rays though are not a threat per se, of course looking at a screen 24/7 is not ideal but no one has developed any deadly conditions or symptoms but it is an inconvenience more than anything and on a personal level I would rather make my life and screen time a little bit better than leave it as it is so yes I totally root for these glasses that are a plus rather than a minus in my actual screen time routine.

Again I am not a specialist nor a Doctor and I recommend to think twice before ordering like anything that can add or alter something even if it is a minor change.
